Japan is already working on its 6G strategy for 2030

There are reports that Japan is planning to draw up a 6G strategy and also setting up a dedicated panel on the tech by 2030.

6G is expected to be launch around the year 2030 and also some say it could be 10 times faster than 5G.

Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications plans to create a joint government civilian research society this month (January).

And also the NTT and Toshiba will reportedly be invited to share their views on the 6G potential and the related policies in June.

This focus on the 6G may come as something of a surprise to those who noted that the Japan 5G rollout has not been as rapid as its local neighbors, China and South Korea of which both launched the technology last year.

Also, Japan has a plan to launch the so-called “local 5G” this spring with the infrastructure to be installed in some of the specific areas, such as the selected hospitals and also the factories.

With the World's focus on the race of the 5G, the starting gun for the 6Grace also has already been fired and Japan is looking for a place on the podium.
